He is in the Background Fine-tuning the Process

The story of Mordecai in the book of Esther is quite interesting. In the hours and minutes leading up to his promotion, he had zero idea something like that was going to happen. He had no idea his name and matter were the subject of discussion at a high table.

Many times, we're completely oblivious to what He's doing. At other times, you already got a word, but events thereafter may seem to make the fulfilment of that word doubtful.

"That a river is still (no sign of flowing) at the surface doesn't mean there's no current or movement underneath."

That you can't see it doesn't mean nothing is happening. God is working things out for your good. Yes, you have your desires, but you must also factor in His plans and His timing. These three work together to bring to pass God's promises.

As children of God, one assurance you should have is that God has got your back, and will work things out for your good. Simply maintain your relationship with Him and keep believing. That good thing will come!
